The 19th edition of the Games of the Small States of Europe concluded on 31 May in Andorra, marking a historic milestone in terms of media visibility. Thanks to a strategic partnership with ANOC (Association of National Olympic Committees), the event achieved unprecedented reach, allowing the performances of over 1,000 athletes from the nine participating National Olympic Committees (NOCs) to reach audiences in nearly 130 countries.
For the first time, the Games were broadcast live on ANOC.tv, in addition to coverage by national media outlets. ANOC also coordinated the broadcast operations and launched a digital support program through its ANOC Digital Content HUB platform. This resource provided ready-to-use materials — from official photos to highlight videos — to NOCs, national federations, and athletes, aiming to strengthen their communication and digital presence.
A digital strategy that took the Games to the next level
The launch of the ANOC Digital Content HUB marked a turning point in the Games’ promotion strategy. Initially designed for the nine participating NOCs, the program was later extended to over 100 partners, including federations and athletes, who received more than 3,000 content suggestions. This unprecedented level of digital coordination allowed organizers to amplify coverage of key moments and deliver an agile and engaging narrative of the competitions.
The synergy between institutions, federations, and athletes not only strengthened the individual communication of each entity, but also positioned the event as a global showcase for sport in the small European states. With 19 disciplines in competition, the final medal tally was topped by Cyprus with 108 medals, followed by Luxembourg (86) and Iceland (75), cementing a historic edition in terms of international reach and media professionalization.
