Antalya, Türkiye, will host the 2026 Contact Ju-Jitsu World Championship from 14 to 17 May in Kemer, one of its coastal districts. The competition will bring international Contact Ju-Jitsu athletes to the Göynük Atatürk Sports Hall to compete in Full Contact and Head Impact Free -HIF- formats, under the organisation of the Turkish Muaythai & Jujitsu Federation.

The championship will include adult, under-18, under-21 and masters categories, extending the competitive scope of the event across several generations of athletes. National federations will have until 26 April to complete standard registration, with official documents and the registration process available through the JJIF SportsID/Sportdata platform.

Kemer strengthens Antalya’s international sports profile

Kemer is located in the province of Antalya, on Türkiye’s Mediterranean coast, an area associated with both international tourism and the organisation of sports events. The official announcement highlights Antalya’s hospitality and establishes the Viking Garden Otel as the official accommodation venue and logistical reference point for participants.

The Göynük Atatürk Sports Hall already has experience hosting international indoor competitions. The venue has appeared as a host for events organised by the International Korfball Federation -IKF-, including the IKF European Korfball Championship B-Division 2024 and European qualifiers, adding organisational background to the choice of venue.

Contact Ju-Jitsu, a discipline between striking, throwing and ground work

Contact Ju-Jitsu combines striking, throwing, control and ground techniques within a specific competitive format. Depending on the development of the bout and the scoring system, victory can come through technical superiority, submission, decision or regulatory stoppage, in a discipline that demands tactical precision and physical capacity.

The championship will include the Full Contact and Head Impact Free -HIF- formats. The first is based on a more complete and demanding combat framework, while the second removes impacts to the head and offers an adapted competitive pathway for youth categories or athletes in a progression process, while maintaining the technical structure of the discipline.

A championship with a global structure and several generations in competition

The competition system may vary depending on the number of entries in each category, from round-robin pools to single-elimination brackets. The official documents present the event as “the pinnacle of Full Contact Ju-Jitsu”, with a programme designed to bring together the leading international specialists in the discipline.

The competition will take place from 14 to 17 May at the Göynük Atatürk Sports Hall, with the Viking Garden Otel as the official championship venue. Registrations will be managed through JJIF SportsID/Sportdata, and national federations must complete the standard process before 26 April.
