The International Olympic Committee (IOC) published its Annual Report, adopted by IOC members at the 142nd IOC Session in Paris. The theme of the report is engagement and partnerships, a central theme of IOC and Olympic Movement activities during the year.

The report includes the 2023 audited consolidated financial statements, as well as the IOC Member Compensation Policy. The IOC has voluntarily chosen to prepare the consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS Accounting Standards, even though the organisation is not legally required to comply with these more stringent standards.

Thanks to the continued support of the IOC’s commercial partners, the organisation is in a position of strength and stability and has reason to be confident about the long-term future, even in the face of global uncertainty. The IOC, which is entirely privately funded, has continued to redistribute 90 percent of distributable income to support the organisation of the Olympic Games, the promotion of athletes and sport at all levels around the world and the dissemination of the Olympic values of peace and solidarity. This equates to $4.2 million per day. In 2023, the IOC redistributed $600 million.

Olympic Agenda 2020+5 reached its midpoint, providing an opportunity to assess progress. The IOC’s peace and solidarity mission also remained central in 2023. Olympic Solidarity provided vital support to athletes and NOCs, particularly those in areas affected by conflict and disaster. Meanwhile, the Olympic Movement’s commitment to sustainability continued with concerted action to improve sustainability, gender equality and inclusion, and human rights in all operations. All of these efforts will be clearly evident during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where the IOC has allocated equal places to male and female athletes.

Finally, the IOC further strengthened its commitment to good governance and transparency, intensifying support for anti-doping initiatives and increasing efforts to prevent the manipulation of sport competitions.
