The much-awaited 33rd AIDA World Championship 2024 has kicked off in Corsica, France, following an impressive opening ceremony and two intense days of training. Starting this Friday, the world’s best freedivers will compete in the deep waters of this paradisiacal island in pursuit of glory.

The preliminary event schedule is as follows: on Friday, September 6, women will compete in the Constant Weight No Fins (CNF) category, followed by the men in the same category on Saturday, September 7. On Sunday, September 8, women will face off in the Constant Weight Bifins (CWTB) event, with the men competing on Monday, September 9. After a rest day on Tuesday, September 10, the Free Immersion (FIM) competition will take place, with women competing on Wednesday, September 11, and men on Thursday, September 12. The week will culminate with the Constant Weight (CWT) competitions, with the women taking the stage on Friday, September 13, and the men on Saturday, September 14.
Sunday, September 15, has been reserved as a backup day in case of any unforeseen circumstances, and will also feature the closing ceremony, marking the end of this thrilling competition. You can follow the entire event live on AIDA’s official YouTube channel.
