The Women’s Basketball League Americas (WBLA) returns stronger in its second edition, set to take place between September and November 2024. The FIBA Regional Office in the Americas has revealed the teams that will compete and the group composition for this prestigious tournament, which aims to establish itself as the premier women’s club competition on the continent.
This tournament, which had its first edition in 2023, seeks not only to crown the best women’s basketball club in the Americas but also to strengthen FIBA’s commitment to the development of women’s basketball in the region. Indeportes Antioquia, the reigning champion, returns with the hope of defending its title and reaffirming its dominance in the WBLA.

Group A, corresponding to the South Zone, will be composed of Ferro and Unión Florida, champions of the Torneo Apertura and the Argentine League, respectively. Alongside them, Sportiva Italiana, the current champion of Chile, and Malvín, the champion of Uruguay, will compete. This group will play their matches from September 13 to 15 at the Héctor Etchart Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In the North Zone, Group B will feature the participation of Bay Area Phoenix from the United States, Indeportes Antioquia from Colombia, Salvadoreñas from El Salvador, and Pioneras de Delicias from Mexico. The matches of this group will be held at the Iván de Bedout Coliseum in Medellín, Colombia, from September 27 to 29.
