IFMA promotes the premiere of the documentary ‘Muaythai: Power & Spirit’

On February 6, coinciding with Thai Boxing Day, the premiere of the documentary ‘Muaythai: Power & Spirit’ was held, a production that pays tribute to the history and cultural value of this ancient sport.

The documentary, powered by IFMA, was presented by the Center for Multicultural Studies and Social Innovation at the Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with The Story of Muaythai project and its prestigious partners including:

  • TV Burabha Co., Ltd.
  • Banchamek Gym Co., Ltd.
  • Asia Research Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University
  • Ministry of Culture
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • With the support of the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC)
  • In cooperation with the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA)
  • A journey to the roots of Muaythai

The documentary ‘Muaythai: Power & Spirit’ explores the cultural richness and evolution of this martial art, highlighting its different regional styles: Muay Lopburi, Muay Korat, Muay Tha Sao and Muay Chaiya.

Documentary highlights: Subtitles in seven languages: English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, Russian and Arabic. Participation of Sombat Banchamek (Buakaw), a Muaythai legend worldwide.
