Fourteen-time Emmy Award winner Ben Winston will lead the creative team behind the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games –LA28–, alongside executive producer Scott Givens. The pair will head FulFive, a new joint venture between Fulwell Entertainment and FiveCurrents, combining the creative power of global entertainment with the technical mastery of Olympic ceremony production.

The LA28 Organizing Committee announced their appointment in an official statement, highlighting that the selection followed a global search for partners “capable of combining artistic vision and flawless execution at the highest level,” according to Peter Rice, LA28’s Head of Ceremonies and Content. The Olympic ceremonies will take place on July 14 and 30, while the Paralympic ceremonies are scheduled for August 15 and 27, all set in iconic Los Angeles venues. The city will host the Olympic Games for the third time and the Paralympic Games for the first.

A partnership between creative talent and Olympic experience

Ben Winston is one of the most acclaimed British producers and directors in the global entertainment industry. Beyond his work on The Late Late Show with James Corden, he has produced Friends: The Reunion, several Grammy Awards specials, and projects for Apple TV+, Netflix, and Disney+. He also directed the “Paris-to-LA” segment during the Paris 2024 Closing Ceremony, strengthening his connection with the Olympic Movement.

Scott Givens, meanwhile, brings over 15 Olympic Games and 63 global ceremonies to his credit, having delivered more than 400 live events. Recipient of the Olympic Order from the International Olympic Committee –IOC–, Givens has led productions for organizing committees, torch relays, and official institutional events. His operational and technical expertise complements Winston’s creative vision, forming a partnership that blends artistic excellence with ceremonial precision.

Fulwell Entertainment, from television to the Olympic stage

Founded in the United Kingdom in 2005 by Ben Winston, Leo Pearlman, and brothers Ben Turner and Gabe Turner, Fulwell Entertainment—formerly known as Fulwell 73—has become a major global production company with offices in London, Los Angeles, and New York. Its work spans television, film, music specials, and documentaries, recognized for combining storytelling with large-scale entertainment.

Among its most acclaimed productions are The Late Late Show with James Corden, Friends: The Reunion, several Grammy Awards shows, and documentaries for Apple TV+, Netflix, and Disney+ featuring leading cultural and sports figures. In 2024, the company announced its merger with The SpringHill Company, founded by LeBron James and Maverick Carter, strengthening its international presence and expanding into new content platforms. Joining the LA28 project highlights its ability to merge the creative power of the entertainment industry with the institutional dimension of the Olympic Movement.

The Olympic legacy of FiveCurrents

Founded in 2005, FiveCurrents has established itself as a world leader in the creation and production of large-scale ceremonies and international events. With more than $1.7 billion in global productions, the company has delivered 63 major ceremonies and contributed to 18 Olympic Games projects, combining technical expertise, logistical precision, and artistic sensibility to become a benchmark in live production.

Its relationship with the Olympic Movement includes work on the London 2012 Opening and Closing Ceremonies, as well as torch relays, institutional events, and audiovisual productions for both Olympic and Paralympic committees. FiveCurrents has also produced continental games, cultural festivals, and national celebrations, always with a focus on emotional connection and audience engagement. Its operational excellence and international reputation complement the creative vision of Fulwell Entertainment within the new joint venture FulFive.

With the union of Fulwell Entertainment and FiveCurrents, the FulFive project represents a new approach to Olympic ceremony production: a collaboration between the global entertainment industry and the technical craft of live event execution. The appointment of Ben Winston and Scott Givens underscores LA28’s ambition to reflect both the Olympic spirit and the cultural identity of Los Angeles, as the city prepares to host the Olympic Games for the third time and the Paralympic Games for the first.
