Season three of eFIBA, FIBA’s NBA 2K tournament, unveiled

61 national teams will battle for the regional championship title and a place in the prestigious eFIBA World Finals. eFIBA Season 3 will feature NBA 2K25 on PlayStation 5, and National Federations from various regional areas around the world will have the opportunity to battle it out for $50,000 in prize money.

More than 60 National Federations will participate and the first action will begin on 1 October, in the form of regional pre-qualifiers, and will conclude on 14 October. On the 15th, the regional qualifiers and regional finals will begin and run until 7 November. Eight teams will qualify for the eFIBA World Finals, which will be played in person in December.

For Africa, Algeria, Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Gabon, Guinea, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo and Tunisia will play. Asia/Oceania will compete with India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, New Zealand, Macao, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines and Thailand.

Europe will compete with Albania, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Kosovo, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey. The Middle East will be joined this season by Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. The Americas will compete with Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, USA, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Venezuela.

At DreamHack Winter 2023, the three-day gaming lifestyle festival in Sweden, more than 45,000 people were in attendance, and the eFIBA season 2 world finals took centre stage in Jonkoping. The USA were crowned champions and, after winning the historic eFIBA World Finals live, the Americans took home the lion’s share of the €50,000 prize money, with France in second place, Turkey in third and the Philippines in fourth.
