Suthida has been appointed Global Ambassador for Clean Sport by the World Anti-Doping Agency, in a move welcomed by the international Muaythai community.

The appointment was announced on 28 October during a royal audience at Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall in Bangkok, attended by WADA President Witold Bańka and Vice-President Yang Yang, who met King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida.

The International Federation of Muaythai Associations and the World Muaythai Council congratulated the Queen, describing her appointment as an honour for Thailand and an important moment for international sport. They said it reinforced the values of integrity and fairness in competition.

Thailand, the birthplace of Muaythai, regards the martial art as an important part of its national heritage, combining sport, culture and tradition. From its origins in Thailand, Muaythai has developed into a global sport practised across the world.

IFMA is the only international federation for Muaythai recognised by the International Olympic Committee and is a signatory to the World Anti-Doping Code. Its recognition by the IOC has strengthened Muaythai’s position within the international sporting movement.

IFMA and WMC also thanked Bańka, Yang Yang and the wider WADA community for their continued efforts to protect clean athletes and uphold sporting integrity worldwide.

Representing 157 national federations, the global Muaythai community expressed its unity behind the appointment. IFMA and WMC extended their best wishes to Queen Suthida, expressing hope that her new role would inspire people through sport and strengthen friendship among nations.
