2024 ended with a packed schedule of training activities led by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). Through a series of courses and camps, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to the global development of gymnastics, particularly in the rhythmic discipline. Over the last two months of the year, coaches from the Americas, Asia, and Africa participated in four educational activities that marked milestones in their regions.

The year’s finale took place in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, where an aerobic gymnastics camp was held from December 16 to 19. With 20 local coaches in attendance, the event symbolized not only the end of a training cycle but also FIG’s commitment to fostering gymnastics in regions with less-established sporting traditions.

EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENTS

The first Level 2 rhythmic gymnastics academy was held in San Salvador, El Salvador, from October 28 to November 1. This event, organized by the National Gymnastics Federation, brought together 13 coaches from seven countries within the Pan American Gymnastics Union (PAGU). Marta Bobo (ESP) led the sessions, accompanied by FIG technical expert Mónica Guzmán (MEX).

A few days later, from November 11 to 15, Bangkok, Thailand, hosted the second Level 2 academy, which attracted 19 participants from seven Asian nations. Helena Dias (POR) led the training, assisted by Nadya Alexandrova (GBR). Both academies stood out for their technical focus and for providing key tools to advance rhythmic gymnastics in their respective regions.
