Venezuelan Yulimar Rojas, recognized as the queen of triple jump, was one of the most notable absences from major athletics events in 2024, including the Paris Olympics and the Diamond League Finals. Rojas, a four-time world champion and gold medalist at Tokyo 2020, was unable to defend her Olympic title or her Diamond, as an Achilles tendon injury kept her off the track since April 10.

Throughout her recovery, Rojas has kept her fans updated on her progress through social media, showcasing her resilience and determination. In mid-September, the Venezuelan athlete shared a message announcing that, after five and a half months away from the track, she had finally reached a key milestone in her recovery.

“After five and a half months away from the track, I reconnect with it in this way dancing with positivity and great joy. It has been a time of hard work, challenges, but also of infinite faith,” Rojas expressed, accompanying her message with a video of herself dancing. Her words reflect an indomitable spirit and a clear vision for the future, highlighting that, although the journey has been tough, her faith and effort bring her closer to a full recovery.

With the 2024 season practically over, Yulimar Rojas has her sights set on 2025. Her return to competition is expected during the 2025 indoor season. Rojas has demonstrated her strong belief that success is built through hard work, stating in a post: “You are the architect of your own destiny. Opportunities will not appear out of nowhere; you have to build hundreds of paths for them to cross yours.”

With optimism and determination, the Venezuelan champion continues on her path to recovery. Next year’s indoor season seems like the perfect stage for Rojas to return and once again impress the athletics world with her talent and perseverance.
