In Munich, the groups for the Second Round of the FIBA Europe Cup were defined, marking the start of a new phase in this prestigious club competition. Meanwhile, Shenzhen, China, witnessed a spectacular tournament of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour, where Ub Huishan NE reaffirmed their dominance in urban basketball.

FIBA EUROPE CUP

The FIBA Europe Cup 2024-25 advances to its Second Round, with 16 teams ready to compete in four groups after an intense Regular Season. Among the qualifiers are Banco di Sardegna Sassari (ITA), Bilbao Basket (ESP), and Tofas Bursa (TUR), who secured their spots by leading their respective groups. Six other teams advanced as the best second-place finishers, including Anwil Wloclawek (POL) and PAOK mateco (GRE).

The groups for this stage feature teams from 12 different countries and two previous champions, Sassari (2019) and Anwil (2023). Action will begin in December, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Quarterfinals, promising high-level matchups that will determine the favorites for the title.

FIBA 3X3

The FIBA 3×3 World Tour Shenzhen 2024 saw an impressive performance by Ub Huishan NE (SRB), who claimed their fifth title of the year after defeating Paris (FRA) 20-12 in an electrifying final. The Serbian team showed resilience after a tough start, overcoming NY Harlem (USA), Vienna (AUT), and Amsterdam (NED) before triumphing in the decisive match.

The tournament MVP was Strahinja Stojacic, nicknamed “Doctor Strange,” who earned the award with 30 points, 16 rebounds, and 6 dunks. His performance was key to Ub’s success, solidifying their position as the most dominant team of the season.
