Argentina will host a key date in the Olympic table tennis classification

The Olympic route continues for the various sports towards Paris 2024. And in that sense, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced that Mendoza, Argentina, will host the WTT Contender Mendoza, one of the last instances to get points in the road to the Olympic Games.

The Aconcagua Arena, with capacity for 8,500 people, will be the place where the best competitors will compete in the tournament between May 27 and June 2. The event distributes points for the world ranking, just in the days before the Olympic ranking closes, on June 18.

The decision to host Argentina was, among other aspects considered, the successful organization of the 2023 WTT Youth Contender.

“Bringing the WTT Contender to Mendoza is a proud moment for Argentine table tennis,” commented Fernando Joffre, president of the Argentine Table Tennis Federation. “It is an opportunity for our athletes to show themselves on an international stage and to inspire new generations in the country,” the manager concluded.
