ANOC Secretary General Gunilla Lindberg attended the first day of the Chefs de Mission Seminar for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, held in Milan on Tuesday.

The day began with a series of informative plenary sessions addressing key functional areas of the Games, such as sport, the Olympic Village, accreditation, sports registration and medical aspects. These updates represent an important milestone in the National Olympic Committees’ preparation process and provide essential clarity for operational planning ahead of the Games.

THE OLYMPIC VILLAGE OF MILAN, IN THE HEART OF THE CITY CENTER

Following the sessions, Lindberg joined NOC representatives on a tour of the construction site of the Milan Olympic Village, which is in its final stages. Located in the heart of the city, the Village will be one of the nerve centers of the Games. Its progress reflects the overall momentum of Milano Cortina 2026, as preparations accelerate.

With a competition plan spread across multiple regions, Milano Cortina 2026 will present unique logistical challenges for the NOCs. Early testing on the bobsleigh track has offered positive signs that homologation will progress as planned, a reassuring update for the teams present.

ANOC is fully committed to the preparation process and listens carefully to the presentations and concerns raised by the NOCs. As always, ANOC’s priority is to ensure that the NOCs’ voices are heard and that they receive all the necessary support on the road to Milano Cortina 2026.
