Pablo Lambardi, Secretary General of the FIPV and President of the South American Pelota Confederation; Dr. Matilde García, member of the FIPV Board of Directors; and Roberto Elías, architect Director of Infrastructure of the FIPV will be those who attend the ceremony on behalf of the governing body of world Basque Pelota this Tuesday, May 14.
NEWS IN SOUTH AMERICA
In South America it was not the only news about Basque pelota. The FIPV continues to work together with Argentina to reach a consensus regarding the venue for the 2026 World Cup, awarded to the Province of San Luis in 2022, but in April 2024 the Government of San Luis announced that they would not organize the planetary event.
Due to the above, the FIPV summoned its Executive Committee for this Tuesday, May 14, with the San Luis 2026 World Cup as the only reason for the meeting.
On the other hand, the International Federation extended its greetings to the brand new board of directors of the Ecuadorian Pelota Federation. Luis Ruiz as president, Segundo Morales as vice president, Álex Bolaños as secretary and Emily Cevallos as treasurer will lead Basque pelota in the country.
