The successful FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup 2024, held in the heart of Vienna from August 22-25, has set new milestones in terms of audience and digital engagement, consolidating the growth of the sport. FIBA 3×3’s digital channels achieved more than 30 million impressions on social media, while engagement exceeded 1.1 million. In addition, videos of the tournament generated 524,000 views on YouTube, representing a significant increase of 189% compared to 2023 and 102% over 2022. This increase in online popularity was also reflected in an increase in new subscribers, with a 198% growth in 2024 compared to the previous year. The geographic scope of the FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup 2024 was also huge. While Serbia maintained its place as the country with the most viewers, Germany, the United States, Austria and the United Kingdom made significant gains, entering the top 10 countries with the highest viewership for the first time.
“We are delighted to witness the continued global growth and popularity of 3×3 basketball,” said Alex Sanchez, FIBA 3×3 General Manager. “The record viewership and engagement for Europe Cup 2024 reinforces the growing appeal of our sport and the passion of our fans worldwide. This success is a testament to the performances of our players on the court, our fantastic hosts in Vienna and our loyal sponsors.”
