The opening ceremony of the Olympic Games will take place on July 26th on the Seine River. and from that day on, athletes who are in Paris will have to take into account the rules of the organization, also with regard to social networks.
One of the rules imposed will be the fact that they will never be able to perform live or content that has been generated by Artificial Intelligence. They will also not be able to publish videos longer than two minutes.
What they will be able to do is to take pictures or record audio and video at the Olympic Games, both inside and outside the accredited areas, in the Olympic Village and the competition venues, using their phone and respecting the rules of the place.
The situation is quite different in the run-up to matches or events. In fact, it is stated that “up to one hour before the start” of the competition they can share audio and video on their personal accounts.
COMMERCIAL MESSAGES
Another issue taken very seriously by the Paris 2024 organization is commercial messages. “They cannot be shared” if they are commercial in nature and include advertisements, paid content or agreements with platforms. It has even been written that “any message thanking sponsors must comply with the provisions of the IOC Commercial Opportunities”.
These rules apply from the day of the opening ceremony to the closing ceremony, as well as during the celebrations at the Champions Park, the Olympic Village or the training venues.
