From June 3 to 5, the International Olympic Committee is organizing the first Olympism365 Summit: Sport for a Better World in Lausanne, Switzerland. This event brings together more than 250 representatives from 100 organizations linked to the Olympic Movement, United Nations agencies, development and financing institutions, civil society, purpose-driven companies, the safe sport community, and the IOC Youth Leaders.
Why is this summit so necessary? The main objective of the Olympism365 Summit is to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through sport. Over three days, participants will work together to explore how sports initiatives can contribute to sustainable development, fostering collaboration between various sectors and global actors.
This event builds on the success of the Sport for Sustainable Development Summit, held in Paris ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games, and aims to be a platform for strengthening collaboration, mobilizing co-investments, and launching joint actions. The ultimate goal is to generate collective commitments and concrete measures that promote sustainable development through sport. Without a sustainable model of life, there will be no sport… or anything else.
