The Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE) have been a unique multi-sport competition since 1985, bringing together athletes from European countries with fewer than one million inhabitants. Held every two years, the Games foster competition, camaraderie, and connection among nine nations. This year they will be held in Andorra and can be followed all over the world.
For the first time, ANOC, through its Digital Accelerator Program, will live broadcast the GSSE in Andorra on ANOC.tv. Additionally, ANOC will provide targeted digital communication services to enhance visibility for the participating National Olympic Committees (NOCs).
A CELEBRATION OF SMALL NATIONS
The 2025 edition of the GSSE will take place from May 26 to June 1, with nine NOCs participating: Andorra, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Monaco, and San Marino. Over 800 athletes will compete across 19 sports, making this a landmark event for small European nations.
The entire competition, including the opening and closing ceremonies, will be broadcast live on ANOC.tv. This will be made possible through a collaboration with Quality, which will oversee all TV production, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the Games. This initiative will bring the excitement of the GSSE to audiences in the participating nations and beyond.
DIGITAL SUPPORT FOR NOCs
In addition to broadcasting, ANOC is partnering with the Organizing Committee to provide targeted communication support for the nine NOCs. A Digital Content Hub will be established and managed by ANOC to streamline the distribution of impactful content for NOCs to use across their digital platforms. This initiative aims to increase the visibility of the Games and help each NOC expand its fan base, maximizing digital reach and engagement.
A STEP FORWARD IN DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT
This marks a significant step in ANOC’s commitment to supporting its members in enhancing their digital presence during events. By providing live broadcasts and digital communication tools, ANOC is ensuring that the GSSE reaches a wider audience and strengthens the connection between the Games and their fans.
ANOC is already in discussions to extend similar support to other regional multisport events, further demonstrating its dedication to empowering NOCs and promoting their events on a global scale.
