The Kudo International Federation (KIF) will hold in Bulgaria its third edition of the Kudo World Cup in June 2025 after receiving a kind proposal from the Municipality of Burgas to support the tournament. After a first possibility of having disputed the event in Italy, it has finally been decided to choose Burgas and under the responsible supervision of the Bulgarian Kudo Federation.
Located on the western coast of the Black Sea, Burgas is the fourth most populous and historic city in Bulgaria, known for its numerous buildings from the 19th and early 20th century. In addition to its rich history, Burgas is an important industrial and transportation center, playing a vital role in the region’s economy.
The well-attended tournament is scheduled to be held over two days – June 28-29, 2025 – and will also feature an U-19, U13 and U16 category in addition to the general division.
“In KUDO, whose birthplace is Japan, I hope that when players enter the competition field they will respect each other as athletes who love KUDO, beyond the country they come from. We understand that this ideal is very difficult to achieve in today’s world, but KIF sincerely hopes that the KUDO World Cup and other International Tournaments will be held as a place to seek world peace and cooperation through a Budo sport called KUDO in a chaotic world where conflicts continue in various forms,” emphasized Hideaki Takahashi, KIF CEO.
